Hi Jason. I had some of this primer laying about & shot some metal parts with it, then topcoated with EPP and after about 5 hours of cure, it’s looking like it’s not getting along well; you have to be really close to see but it appears that it’s forming some outgassing bubbles. I let the epoxy cure for roughly 3 days; after 3 days PPG requires the epoxy to be re-applied for cohesion with their product. With the Stewart stuff, we’re dealing with adhesion if I understand correctly; so I scuffed & shot.

Is there any logic to the paints not getting along, or should I have let the PPG epoxy cure a whole lot longer? Should have stuck to the good ol ekopoxy! Not a huge disaster, easy stuff to strip, but just curious.

I am not sure what you’re seeing. I would have to see the part in person to get a better idea. There should not be any reaction with other coatings since there are no VOC’s in the EPP paint.
