I am building a Cavalier and about to cover the ailerons.
All of the wood is varnished.
When covering the wood ailerons, should I glue just the perimeter, then shrink, then glue through fabric to the large ribtop cover strips? Or glue both perimeter and wood rib top strips?
I assume that varnished surfaces that will be glued should be scuffed. Is there a recommended grit?
Should any type of sandpaper abrasive be avoided? (ie silicon oxide?)
Cheers,
