Piper Super Cubs by Bill & Neroli Henwood (New Zealand)
We have two 1957 Super Cubs based in our flying school at Te Kowhai on the North Island of New Zealand (Classic Cubs Flight Training). Both are covered Stewart Systems. Our first one ZK-BQV powered by a 100 hp Continental O-200 was recovered in 2016 after an engine failure and subsequent landing in a paddock. Our second one ZK-BTC was a “barn find”, was used on crop spraying for 9 years then we rebuilt it from the ground up after not flying for 51 years. Both still carry out flight training in our flying school and apart from the odd scuff around the edges, mainly undercarriage near the entrance, are still in like new condition. My wife Neroli and I are very pleased with how straight forward the fabric and paint system was to apply and how well it is lasting. AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER! (We used Daytona White and Tennessee Red as they came out of the factory in 1957.)
